App Store

What is App Store?

The App Store is Apple’s official digital distribution platform for mobile applications designed for iPhone, iPad, and other Apple devices. Users can search for, download, purchase, install, and update apps through the App Store. Developers and businesses submit their iOS applications through App Store Connect, where apps must meet Apple’s technical, content, privacy, and design requirements before they can be published.

Why it matters

The App Store is one of the primary distribution channels for iOS apps and gives businesses access to users within Apple’s ecosystem. Publishing an app in the App Store requires more than creating the application itself: businesses need to prepare store information, screenshots, an app icon, privacy details, and other metadata and successfully complete Apple’s review process. For businesses using an app builder, App Store publishing is an important step between creating an iOS app and making it available to customers.

Example

A beauty salon creates an iOS booking app using an app builder. After testing the application, the business prepares its App Store listing with an app name, description, icon, screenshots, and privacy information. The app is submitted for Apple’s review and, once approved, becomes available for customers to download from the App Store.
